Oh, this was lovely to read! So many excellent observations and extrapolations about John and Sherlock. I especially enjoyed the bit about their rooms and how they're trying to do right by each other. Brilliant.
I swear, the instant Sherlock got that text from Lestrade, Sherlock's spritely violin riff (the what-ho-we're-chasing-a-cabbie! or right-we're-running-from-the-cops! one) started playing in my head. I could see the two of them as though it was on the TV screen. Just really well done, you.
