On the one hand there's a ton I want to post about, but on the other hand it's mostly unfinished thoughts, so I haven't posted anything, which seems very reflective of my current state of mind. But I'll get better! I also have flatmates who bake me stuff.

There are many things I read/watched that I want to write about but then somehow I don't get around to it (books, Critical Role, Bright Sessions, The Good Place etc.) and other stuff that I can't mention right now because it's for Yuletide. Yuletide will be fun! DD signed up for the first time and we'll do writing sessions together. We started today, writing stuff we should finish before we get started on our Yuletide stories. Quote by DD: "Instead of cannibalistic torture they're now going to drink a glass of wine and I'm very confused what happened." Meanwhile I'm writing awkward hugs. We balance each other so well. And Sunday all three of us are planning a day of baking/cooking/eating/studying/writing/playing boardgames together, it'll be fun.

Tonight, R and I watched the International Space Station fly overhead, a dot of light moving quickly across the night sky. (We also saw a shooting star.)

Back in the 20th century, I did not anticipate doing this sort of thing in real life.

Humanity has its good points.

Like, you're super hyped about several different fandoms, and are inspired for all of them, but it's so much so that everything sort of...cancels each other out? No? Just me?

I've been kinda stagnant and uninspired in my fandoms for a while, nothing really digging it's hooks in me enough to take the plunge into fandom/writing/whathaveyou. This season, though, is giving me new seasons/movies for things I already loved and now I'm having trouble choosing one thing to focus on! *laughs* Which is making deciding what to do for NaNo this year quite tough.

Lemme talk about my fandoms a bit )

But anyway, back on topic... Of course, since I am wanting to write and inspired to write even(!), I've gotten dragged back into playing Atlantica Online. Oops. So, as you can bet, being inspired for two (almost 3, give it a week) different fandoms that I can't decide on, and having AO as an ongoing distraction, well...that writing thing hasn't got anywhere yet. *laughs* A part of me just keeps shrugging it off, but I haven't written anything in nearly a year*, so I definitely need to get a bit of practice in before November kicks off. /o\

*No! I wrote that smutty Roy/Ed thing in March May! It's only been...a few months. Huh. Weird.

It's my job

When writing this post, I accidentally hit something on the keyboard and opened up the Firefox WebIDE window, which I didn't even know existed. Now I have to find out more about it, because it looks intriguing.

Hi! Thank you very much for writing a story for me! :D

Things I like:
* I love friendship/team/found family fic. Characters who grow to like each other, trust each other, and eventually would do many things for each other, yes please. Especially when they're in slightly different positions/places/there are obstacles etc.
* Related to that, navigating relationships: how do they deal with daily life, how do they support and comfort each other at the end of the day, how do they solve conflicts, what happens if there are conflicting loyalties? I'm a big fan of loyalty, betrayal, (self-)sacrifice, and related tropes in general.
* Some other things I love: h/c, competent characters, hugs, plot, happy or at least optimistic endings, …

Things I don't like for Yuletide:
* Stories with a very dark or hopeless ending
* Explicit rape or abuse
* Character bashing
* Stories focusing on harlequin romance tropes or explicit sex
* Different world AUs, like coffeeshop AUs or Harry Potter fusions. I love the canon worlds of all these fandoms so I'd prefer to read fic taking place there. What-if AUs are cool.

Have fun! The prompts below are guidelines, I hope they help you think of ideas.
