This is a Dresden Files/Fullmetal Alchemist crossover I've been working on since...well, since Small Favor and Chapter 100 of FMA were current. I've chosen not to examine just how long ago that was.

But here it is! IT EXISTS.

Neither FMA nor the Dresden Files belong to me.

No one is ever prepared for Edward Elric.

Hallo. I HAVEN’T VANISHED FROM THE INTERNET, though I realize it kind of looks like that. I’ve even been writing all this time, believe it or not. Starting things and then starting new things and then starting other new things…

But look, I finished something! And maybe one day, I will even finish another thing, who knows? ffffff (I’m writing this Inception/Jorge Luis Borges crossover, you guys, it is THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING I’VE EVER WRITTEN, which is really, really saying something.)

This is a crossover with FMA characters in the DGM world, in which Ed and Al share Allen’s suffering in being Cross’s apprentices. This turned out unexpectedly challenging because Ed has no patience for the bullshit at all. He is worse than Kanda. Observe the following summarized life philosophies:

Allen: The world is terrible, I must try to fix it.
Kanda: The world is terrible but that's not my problem.
Ed: This sucks. If this shit keeps up, I’m blowing up a mountain.
Al: My brother is terrible, I must try to fix him. D:

Didn’t manage to fit Roy in, which is a shame and made my beta sad. But he’s out there! He’s a Black Order general and his team are all exorcists and they’re pretending to behave but are quietly plotting to overthrow the Black Order and the Noah and the Millennium Earl and then take over the world. Because that is how they roll.

Spoilers: for DGM, there are spoilers through Kanda backstory. FMA…there are mild spoilers through Hohenheim backstory, but I’m not sure you’d recognize them as spoilers if you hadn’t already read the series.

Thank you so much to Zephy for the beta! And during finals time, even! <3

what you make of it - part 1 )
metisket: (rg veda hatch)

Once upon a time a long time ago, I had a cunning plan to write a short story for each of the Fullmetal sins, and then to post them all together.

Sad fact: some of these sins are just not happening. For example, it is really, really hard to write something for Sloth that isn’t the most boring thing in print since those early 1900s shipping lists re: Manchurian pig iron which I no longer remember my reasons for reading. No one likes lists re: Manchurian pig iron. Or at least, those people are few and far between.

IN CONCLUSION, I give up: I’ll just post these as I finish them, and in the unlikely event that I ever actually finish them all, I’ll make a master list.

This one is Lust, and I’m pleased with how disturbing it turned out. :D Thanks to Zephy for betaing this for me, ehm, LAST YEAR SOMETIME.

Fullmetal Alchemist does not belong to me. Spoilers through Ch. 38 or so.

On a less horrible note! This is one of the promised FMA/DGM crossovers—some DGM characters flung randomly into FMA-verse. *eyes fic dubiously*

So the world of Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty sane, balanced, and logical. Sure, things are bad sometimes, things are complicated sometimes, but they make sense. And are usually, I don’t know, indefinably wholesome.

DGM, meanwhile, is such a sick, twisted, chaotic crazy-factory that there are no words.

Fitting them together: fun times. Also, Ed and Allen in the same room, BEST THING EVER. XD

Neither DGM nor FMA belongs to me. Nothing belongs to me. I am mangaless.

Thank you so much to Zephy for the beta! <3

CRAZY!ED: IT IS DONE.

And I hope to God you guys like it. The first part's maybe kind of slow. I mean, I tried to fix that, but...*bites nails* ANYWAY.

To the usual suspects!

Eiliem: I BLAME YOU. And possibly thank you, too. :D
Zephy: YOU'RE AWESOME, I don't know how you put up with all my screaming and running in circles. ^_^

I don't own FMA. Indeed, this is probably the kind of fic that makes Arakawa cry. (Sorry, Arakawa).

I. In Defiance of Reason
II. Justifying the Means
III. Theory and Practice

IV. Spin )

Those things I said I was writing...I am still writing them! This is by way of being an interlude. I couldn't help it.

If I were Arakawa, I would write an epilogue to FMA. If I were writing that epilogue, it would go something like this, with small children and things being blown up. Though it doesn't address any of those pesky unanswered questions, like minor spoiler )

...WHATEVER.

Thank you to Zephy for the high-speed beta!

Spoilers right through to the end, yes.

FMA does not belong to me, it belongs to Arakawa. Get back here, Arakawa. WRITE US AN OMAKE, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO. :D :D :D

Crazy!Ed! Once again, absurdly long. o_O

As always, thanks to zephy for the beta, and thanks (?) to eiliem for the idea. :D

One more part after this, and it will be Ed POV because I like to play these little games with my sanity.

FMA does not belong to me, I just borrowed it and then broke it.

Part I: In Defiance of Reason
Part II: Justifying the Means

Part III: Theory and Practice )
metisket: (fma al rawr)

It was an FMA dream, and obviously I'd been proofing fic way too much.

Still, happiest dream I've had in years, so whatever. And now I'm interminably proofing FMA fic again, and it reminded me of this dream, and so I thought I'd go ahead and post something based on it.

The dream was pre-102, and therefore doesn't take it into account. In fact, it's pretty spoiler-free. Also short and silly.

Be warned that it follows dream logic, which is to say not much logic at all. But I woke up laughing, despite the improbability of Hawkeye allowing this to happen. :D

I almost forgive my subconscious for that one time with the child chain gang. Almost.
